Henry Kelly

Project Designer

Henry grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, spending summers camping in the Maine wilderness with free periods in the art studio. Drawn by the mountains, he headed west, received his BA at the University of Denver, and spent the better part of a decade working and adventuring in the American West.

Architecture proved to be a natural convergence of his interests in art and the outdoors, leading him to a Master’s degree from the University of Denver, Colorado. He has over five years of experience on high-end residential, multifamily, and small commercial projects, with an attentive eye for design that connects people to the natural world. These decisions, he believes, play a defining role in shaping the well-being of people.

He thinks about design the way he thinks about the outdoor adventures that have shaped him. Whether rowing 280 miles through the Grand Canyon, ski touring the 10th Mountain Division hut system or working through a design problem in the studio, he works through each as an iterative process with an uncertain and exciting destination. You study the terrain, understand the constraints, lean on your team, and stay open to where the path leads. Now based in Portland, Maine, he brings that same curiosity and craft to residential and multifamily work across the region.
