This Bakery/Coffee shop opened September 2018 on a prominient corner in Westbrook. Maine. ROOTS CAFE. In addition to the Cafe and Kitchen spaces, it includes a large meeting room for events, a child care area for kids, a separate tenant space, an exterior patio, and a roof-top deck for summer use. The clients wanted a modern barn-style building that was flooded with natural light.

materials
The materials are prepainted Hardi-plank siding in Iron Gray with Kebony- a organically modified southern yellow pine for the wood details. Aluminum and galvalume flashings and canopy structures allow the simple shape some detail and protection for the major openings. As is common for our projects, we were intimately involved with the selection and design of the interior details/finishes and lighting, including the custom metal shelving, paint colors, cabinets, all interior trim and details, lighting, and wall/floor finishes.
