Great Room on a Cape

The owners wanted a great room attached to their cape.  That was the easy part. The challenge was how to provide a welcoming entrance on the basement level and back side of the house, with proper circulation to the main living level.  The reward to a success here was a vaulted great room with a view to Thomas Pond.  A wood ceiling and great East light were further enhancements planned. The project is currently post poned due to cost and some second thoughts on whether this was the right house to spend the money on.
