MOUSAM LAKE COTTAGE, Shapleigh Maine

This project is 40' from the shore of Mousam Lake in Shapleigh, Maine.  The seasonal cabin was expanding by the allowed 30%, weatherizing, the shell reinforced to be used year round, and the interior reworked to make better space for higher quality lake-side living.

The existing 2x4 stud walls are insulated with closed cell spray foam and the ceilings with cellulose.  The exterior is a combination of VG western red cedar, prepainted cement board siding, American Granite stone veneer and Jeld-Wen windows.  The interiors are maple flooring and nickel gap pine finished with a custom white wash stain.    Rain Screen mat from Advanced Building Products was used behind the wood and stone veneers- MORTAIRVENT- 10mm
